Nationally, in 2006 cosmetic procedures for men totaled 9% of all plastic surgeries. The data, from reporting members of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, shows some interesting trends in male plastic surgeries.

Lead with your chin: men account for 66% of all malar augmentation (chin implant) plastic surgeries.

Face lifts are out, butt lifts are in: since 2000, face lift surgeries for men are down 39%, while buttock lifts are up 660%.

The top 5 surgical procedures for men: in order of number of surgeries performed, they are; nose reshaping, eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty), liposuction, hair transplantation and breast reduction (treatment of gynecomastia).

More male plastic surgery trends

South of the Border- lifts of the lower body : While almost all surgical facial procedures are down since 2000, men are addressing the area at the belt line, and below the belt, in increasing numbers; butt lifts are up 660%, lower body lifts are up 325%, thigh lifts are up 180%, while tummy tucks for men are up 165%.

The top 5 non-invasive cosmetic procedures: in order, they are Botox, microdermabrasion, laser hair removal, chemical peels and laser skin resurfacing. Hands down, the 284,3004 men who chose Botox makes it the single most popular cosmetic procedure for guys by more than 200,000 users.

Are they fake?: Implants give shape that nature didn't provide, and for American men, the most popular implant procedures are for chin (9,304), cheek (2,875), pectorals (409), and calfs (327).
